This piece was created as my final project for the Intermediate Term at Think Tank Training Centre. It’s based on a concept by Thomas Korpi, which I adapted slightly to explore a different mood and visual style. Although I stayed true to the original design’s shape and core elements, I introduced a stylized twist to the environment.

One of my main goals was to capture the warmth and vibrancy often found in animated worlds. I studied references from various films to understand how they use color, light, and shape to convey a sense of charm and storytelling. Gathering inspirational references from animated movies such as Disney and DreamWork.
The result is a colorful, inviting beach shack full of personality and visual rhythm.
For texturing, I used Mari to develop materials that reflect their intended surfaces, all within a stylized approach. Rather than aiming for photorealism, I focused on creating simplified textures that capture the essence of each material. I pushed the saturation of the materials to achieve the vibrant, stylized look I was aiming for, bringing a sense of life and joy to the whole environment. Each material was carefully created to harmonize with the modeling style, color palette, and overall atmosphere of the piece.
